FAQ

Frequently asked questions about COVID-19.

Health Protocols

Yes, you do. Even though currently, the Covid-19 case is more under control, you are still encouraged to comply with the health protocols by wearing a mask, washing your hands, keeping your distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds. Keep in mind, the Covid-19 virus is still around us. The 5M protocol will minimize the risk of contracting a virus.

Keep adhering to the 5M protocol (wearing a mask, washing hands, keeping your distance, reducing mobility, and avoiding crowds). For maximum protection, a second Covid-19 booster vaccination is recommended.

WHO recommends several types of masks that are effective in preventing the spread of the virus, namely:

1. Cloth masks
Cloth masks are intended for people who are healthy and have no symptoms of Covid-19 and are the last resort if medical masks are not available. A good cloth mask needs to have 3 layers, namely the front with a layer made of water-resistant polyester, the middle with a layer of polypropylene which functions as a filter and the back with a water-absorbing material such as cotton.

2. 2 ply surgical mask
Masks are recommended for people who are in good health. This mask has 2 layers, namely the outer and inner layers and has no filter. Therefore, WHO recommends covering this type of mask with a cloth mask or 3 ply mask.

3. 3 ply surgical mask
This mask is recommended for people who have symptoms of illnesses such as flu and cough, seniors 60 years and over, and workers in the health sector. The 3 ply surgical mask has 3 layers, namely a waterproof outer layer (front), a middle part with a high-intensity filter, and an inner part with a large liquid absorbent to absorb coughing or sneezing fluids.

4. N95 masks
This mask is recommended for people who have close contact with Covid-19 patients such as health workers. This mask can protect the wearer from small particulate liquids such as aerosols.

5. Reusable Facepiece Respirators
This type of mask has a higher level of effectiveness than the N95, although it depends again on the quality and type of filter. With its ability to filter small particles and gases, masks are recommended for high-risk workers.

You can adjust the type of masks you will use according to your health condition and level of risk of exposure to the Covid-19 virus.

Travel and Public Places

Every public place in Jakarta has its own visiting regulations. However, there are some health protocols that you can apply when visiting public places, such as wearing a mask, washing your hands with soap or hand sanitizer, and keeping your physical distance from others. Some public places still require you to check in and check out when entering and leaving the locations.

Summarizing the contents of Circular Letter (SE) Number 77 for air transportation, SE Number 78 for sea transportation, SE Number 79 for land transportation, and SE Number 80 for rail transportation, the document requirements for Domestic Travelers (PPDN) are as follows:

1. must show a card/certificate (physical or digital) that has received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (booster) shown through the PeduliLindungi application;
2. carry out a 3x24 hour PCR test in which the sample is taken before departure, if you have not received the third dose of vaccination (booster);
3. PPDN aged 6-17 years and have received the second dose of vaccination, are not required to show negative results on the RT-PCR test or antigen rapid test;
4. PPDN aged 6-17 years and have received the first dose of vaccination, must show a negative rapid test antigen result whose sample is taken within 1 x 24 hours or a negative RT-PCR test result whose sample is taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure;
5. PPDN aged 6-17 years who come from overseas trips and have not received vaccinations, are exempt from the obligation to show a vaccination card and are required to show a negative result of an antigen rapid test whose sample is taken within 1 x 24 hours or a negative result of an RT-test PCR whose samples were taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure;
6. PPDN aged 6-17 years with special health conditions or comorbid diseases that prevent travelers from receiving vaccinations are exempted from the vaccination requirements, but are required to show negative rapid test antigen results whose samples are taken within 1 x 24 hours or negative test results RT-PCR whose samples were taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure and the requirement is to attach a doctor's certificate from a Government Hospital stating that the person concerned has not and/or cannot take part in the COVID19 vaccination; And
7. PPDN under the age of 6 years are exempt from vaccination requirements and are not required to show a negative result on an RT-PCR test or rapid test antigen, but are required to travel with a companion who has fulfilled the provisions for vaccination and COVID-19 testing and implemented strict health protocols.

Based on Circular Letter (SE) Number 25 of 2022, the document requirements for the departure of Foreign Travelers (PPLN) are as follows:

1. PPLN citizens aged 18 and over who will travel abroad from Indonesia are required to show a card/certificate (physical or digital) having received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (booster) shown through the PeduliLindungi application.
2. Provisions for the obligation to show a card/certificate as referred to in number 1, except for PPLN citizens with the following conditions:
a. PPLN Indonesian citizens with special health conditions or comorbid illnesses that prevent the traveler from receiving the vaccine must attach a doctor's certificate from a government hospital stating that the person concerned has not and/or cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine; or
b. Indonesian PPLN citizens who have finished carrying out isolation/treatment for COVID-19 and have been declared inactive in transmitting COVID-19 but have not been able to get the third dose of vaccination (booster) must show a doctor's certificate from a government hospital or the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) stating that the concerned is no longer actively transmitting COVID-19 or COVID-19 recovery certificate.

Based on Circular Letter (SE) Number 25 of 2022, the document requirements for the departure of Foreign Travelers (PPLN) are as follows:

1. PPLN are required to use the PeduliLindungi application by first downloading the application before departure;
2. Show a card/certificate (physical or digital) that has received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least fourteen days before departure written in English, other than the language of the country of origin;
3. The obligation to show a COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate as referred to in number 2 is excluded for:
a. PPLN under 18 years of age;
b. PPLN with special health conditions or comorbid illnesses that prevent the traveler from receiving the vaccine must attach a doctor's certificate from the government hospital of the country of departure stating that the person concerned has not and/or cannot receive the COVID-19 vaccine;
c. PPLN who have finished carrying out COVID-19 isolation/treatment and have been declared not actively transmitting COVID-19 but have not been able to get the second dose of vaccination must attach a doctor's certificate from the government hospital of the country of departure or the ministry that organizes government affairs in the health sector in the country of departure stating that the person concerned is no longer actively transmitting COVID-19 or the COVID-19 recovery certificate;
d. PPLN foreigners holding diplomatic visas and service visas related to official/state visits by foreign officials at ministerial level and above and foreigners entering Indonesia under the TCA scheme, according to the principle of reciprocity while still implementing strict health protocols; And
e. PPLN foreigners who have not received the vaccine and intend to travel domestically in order to continue their journey with international flights out of Indonesian territory, are allowed not to show their COVID-19 vaccination card/certificate as long as they do not leave the airport area while in transit waiting for the international flight they wish to take, by condition:
1) has been permitted by the local Port Health Office (KKP) to travel domestically in order to continue traveling with international flights out of Indonesian territory; And
2) shows flight ticket schedules outside Indonesia for direct transit from the city of departure to international airports in Indonesian territory with the final destination to the destination country.

Foreign travelers must comply with the following health protocols:

1. wearing a three-layer cloth mask or medical mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin;
2. change masks regularly every four hours, and dispose of mask waste in the space provided;
3. wash hands regularly using water and soap or hand sanitizer, especially after touching objects touched by other people;
4. maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from other people and avoid crowds; and
5. are advised not to talk one way or two ways over the phone or in person while traveling by land, rail, sea, river, lake, ferry and air public transportation modes.

Several public places in Jakarta, such as malls and shopping centers still require you to check in and out through PeduliLindungi. For that, make sure the application is still installed on the gadget so you can enter and exit public places.

Work Industry

During your activities at the office, comply with health protocols, such as wearing a mask, washing your hands, and keeping physical distance with others. It is advised not to use shared equipment, such as cutlery, drink, and prayer kit to reduce the risk of being exposed to Covid-19.

Adjusting to the completion of PPKM in Jakarta, provisions regarding work from home and work from office for workers are implemented based on the policies of each industrial sector and respective companies.

If you feel the symptoms of Covid-19, immediately take a SWAB/PCR test. If the result is positive, include a letter of test results for applying to work from home, if possible.

Covid-19 Booster Vaccination

Booster vaccination is a follow-up dose of vaccination given as an effort to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 with the aim of increasing body protection and minimizing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and death caused by Covid-19.

The protection provided by the primary vaccine diminishes over time. Therefore, if you are eligible to be vaccinated, you need to get a booster dose of the vaccine to increase your body's protection and minimize the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and death from Covid-19.

Booster vaccination is carried out at least 6 months after the 2nd dose of primary vaccination.

The first booster dose of vaccination was held simultaneously in Indonesia on 12 January 2022.

The 2nd booster vaccination is carried out at least 6 months after the 1st booster dose.

The 2nd dose booster vaccination was first held simultaneously in Indonesia on 24 January 2023.

Yes, it is needed if you meet the criteria for vaccine recipients. As an additional dose, the second booster vaccine will increase the protective effect of Covid-19 for a longer time, reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death from Covid-19.

Physical and Mental Health

Non-transmissible diseases (PTM), especially Diabetes Mellitus and hypertension have the potential to worsen health conditions when infected with Covid-19. For that, we need to prevent the occurrence of non-communicable diseases (PTM). Here are tips that you can follow:

1. Limit excessive consumption of sugar, salt and fat
2. Exercise at least 30 minutes a day
3. Do not smoke or be exposed to secondhand smoke
4. Maintain ideal body weight
5. Regular health checks

Source: The Ministry of Health

There are several things you can do to maintain your physical health during a pandemic, namely:

1. Consumption of food with balanced nutrition
Make sure your body always receives a balanced nutritional intake. Consumption of meat, milk, eggs, fish as a source of protein. You can get carbohydrate intake from rice, potatoes, oats, or whole wheat bread. Don't forget to eat fibrous foods like vegetables and fruit.

2. Exercise regularly
Exercising regularly will help keep your body fit. You can schedule 30 minutes each day to exercise. It doesn't have to be strenuous exercise, you can also choose a sport that you enjoy such as jogging or yoga.

3. Drink lots of water
In order to always be healthy, it is important for you to meet your body's fluid needs. Drink enough water. For adults, it is recommended to drink 2 liters of water per day.

4. Get enough rest
Consuming nutritious food, exercising, and drinking water alone is not enough. Try to always get hours of rest and sleep that suit your needs, okay? Adults aged 18-40 years generally need 7-8 hours of sleep per day.

Mental health is equally important as physical health to maintain. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we experienced major changes regarding our lifestyle. Movement becomes more restricted which tends to make us feel disconnected or isolated from other people and the outside world. Not to mention, the various challenges faced, such as schooling from home, being laid off by the office, circulating hoaxes related to Covid-19 and others. To keep your mental health stable, you can take several actions such as:

1. Have a routine
Maintain or create a new routine. An effective routine can help reduce stress, and minimize the anxiety you feel.

2. Curating information
Not all the news that you read or hear everyday is true. It is important for you to select the information, both regarding Covid-19 and others, that you want to take so you don't fall for hoaxes that make you worry too much.

3. Focus on the things that make you happy
Try to divert your energy and thoughts to positive things that make you happy. For example, by running a hobby, participating in activities according to passion, and others. Slowly, negative thoughts and feelings will begin to diminish.

4. Ask someone to talk to
If you have a problem, it's good not to keep it alone. You can invite the closest and most trusted people, such as family or friends to talk about your problems, or even find a way out together. If you want more detailed directions, you can share your problem with a professional, such as a psychologist or counselor.

Basic Information of COVID-19

Coronavirus Disease 2019 or Covid-19 is a new illness that can cause lung inflammations and respiratory problems. The disease is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Clinical symptoms vary from ones similar to the common cold (coughs, runny nose, sore throat, sore muscles, headaches) to severe complications (pneumonia and sepsis) or does not show any symptoms at all (asymptomatic).

People with Covid-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have Covid-19:

-Fever or chills

-Cough

-Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

-Fatigue

-Muscle or body aches

-Headache

-New loss of taste or smell

-Sore throat

-Congestion or runny nose

-Nausea or vomiting

-Diarrhea

If there are people who, within 14 days before the symptoms appear, have traveled to an infected area or have treated/had close contact with a Covid-19 suspect or patient, then that person will be examined through further laboratory examinations to confirm the diagnosis.

If the aforementioned symptoms are present AND you have traveled to a Covid-19 infected country or was exposed to a Covid-19 positive patient, contact the Jakarta Provincial Department of Health's Covid-19 Hotline at 112 via phone call, 081 112 112 112 or 081 388 376 955 via WhatsApp to receive further instructions.

Suspect case

Someone who has one of the following criteria:

a. People with acute respiratory infections (ARI)* AND in the last 14 days before symptoms appear have a history of travel or living in a country/region of Indonesia who reports local transmission**.

b. People with one of the symptoms/signs of ARI* AND in the last 14 days before the symptoms appear have a history of contact with a confirmed/probable case of Covid-19. People with severe ARI/pneumonia who need hospitalization AND no other cause based on a convincing clinical description.

The term Patient Under Supervision (PDP) is re-introduced as a Suspect case.

Probable Case

Suspected cases with severe ARI/ARDS/died with a convincing clinical description of Covid-19 AND no results of RT-PCR laboratory examination.

Confirmed Case

Someone who tested positive for Covid-19 proven by RT-PCR laboratory examination. There are 2 types of Confirmed case:

a. A case confirmed with symptoms (symptomatic)

b. A case that confirmed without symptoms (asymptomatic)

Information:

*ARI is fever (≥38oC) or a history of fever; and accompanied by one of the symptoms/signs of respiratory disease such as: coughing/shortness of breath/sore throat/runny nose/mild to severe pneumonia.

** Local transmission is the country/region with a confirmed case whose source of transmission originates from the region reporting the case. Local transmission country is a country included in the classification of cluster cases and community transmission, for a complete list, please visit

According to KMK No. HK.01.07-MENKES-413-2020 concerning the Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19, which is meant by Traveler, Discarded, Completed Isolation, and Death are as follows:

Traveler

Someone who traveled from within the country (domestic) and abroad in the last 14 days.

Discarded

Discarded if it meets one of the following criteria:

a. A suspect case with 2 times negative RT-PCR examination results for 2 consecutive days within an interval of > 24 hours.

b. A close contact case who has completed the 14 days quarantine period.

Finish Isolation

Finish isolation is if someone meet one of the following criterias:

a. Asymptomatic confirmation cases without RT-PCR follow-up with 10 days of independent isolation since the confirmation of the diagnostic specimen was taken.

b. Probable/confirmed cases with symptoms (symptomatic) that did not undergo RT-PCR follow-up were counted 10 days from the date of onset plus at least 3 days after they no longer showing symptoms of fever and respiratory problems.

c. Probable cases/cases of symptomatic (confirmation of) symptomatic who received a negative RT-PCR follow-up 1 times, plus at least 3 days after no longer showing symptoms of fever and respiratory problems.

Death

Dead of Covid-19 for surveillance purposes is a confirmed/probable case of Covid-19 who died.

Up to now, booster vaccinations in Indonesia consist of two doses with a minimum interval of 6 months between them.

Like other respiratory ailments, COVID-19 can cause mild symptoms, including colds, sore throat, cough, and fever. About 80% of cases can recover without the need for specialized care. About 1 out of every 6 people may suffer severe pain, such as pneumonia or shortness of breath, which usually occurs gradually. Although the death rate is still quite low, older people as well as people with preexisting medical conditions (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease) tend to be more vulnerable to more severe complications. People who have a fever, cough, and have shortness of breath should immediately get medical help.

It is still uncertain how long COVID-19 can stay on the surface of an object. However, preliminary studies show that COVID-19 can last for several hours, depending on the type of surface, temperature, or humidity of the environment.

But a simple disinfectant can kill the virus so that it is impossible to infect people. And getting used to washing hands with soap and water, or alcohol-based hand rubs, and avoiding touching your eyes, mouth, or nose are more effective in protecting yourself.

It is not a problem if you don't have a DKI Jakarta ID card. Residents with non-DKI Jakarta ID cards can be vaccinated only by bringing their ID card or photocopy of family card (for age 12-17 years), print out of vaccination card, and print out of control card.
If there is such case, send your report to the Department of Social Services via JAKI or Jakarta Government's CRM reporting channels (including social media platforms @DKIJakarta)
SARS is a coronavirus that was identified in 2003 and belonged to the same family of COVID-19 but has different types of viruses. The symptoms are similar to COVID-19, but SARS symptoms are more severe. SARS is more deadly but not more infectious than COVID-19.
The vaccination registration service will continue to be opened until all residents of DKI Jakarta are vaccinated.
One of the requirements for vaccination recipients are healthy. For those who are sick, they can get vaccinated after recover.
You cannot change the schedule before the implementation of the schedule that has been selected, because when the registrant chooses a schedule at JAKI the data will be sent to PCare and health facilities to be entered into the system. However, you can re-register yourself a day after the previously scheduled date.
Each health facility has a different daily quota. It is very likely that the public health facility has run out of its daily quota or has not opened registration through JAKI. Please select another day or time. Before registering for a vaccination, it is highly recommended for you to check the vaccination quota on this page.

COVID-19 Transmission

A person can get infected from the carrier of coronavirus or a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. This disease can spread through small droplets from the nose or mouth when coughing or sneezing. The droplet then falls on the surrounding objects. If someone touches an object that has been contaminated with the droplet, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth, then that person can be infected with COVID-19. Or someone could get infected by accidentally inhaling droplets from the infected person. Therefore, it is crucial to wear a mask and keep a safe distance of about one meter from others.

To this day, experts are still conducting investigations to determine the source of the virus, its type of exposure, and its transmission. Make sure to keep yourself updated with current and accurate sources of information on the development of the disease.

People who live or travel in areas with confirmed transmission of COVID-19 are very likely to be infected. Those infected are people who, within 14 days before symptoms appear, had a travel history to an infected country or who have been in close contact with family members, coworkers, or medical personnel who treat patients before they know they are infected with COVID-19.

Health care workers who treat patients with COVID-19 are at higher risk and must consistently protect themselves with appropriate infection prevention and control procedures.

There is no age limit on people who can be infected by this coronavirus (COVID-19). But older people and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure) tend to be more vulnerable to severe complications.

The transmission of this disease is mainly through small droplets released when a person coughs or sneezes.

Many people with Covid-19 only experience mild symptoms such as mild coughing, and even barely suffer from any pain, which may occur in the early stages of the disease. Until now, experts are continuing to investigate to determine the transmission period or incubation period of Covid-19. Make sure to keep yourself updated with current and accurate sources of information on the development of the disease.

According to WHO, droplets, which are generally considered to be particles <5μm in diameter, can remain in the air for long periods of time and be transmitted to others over distances greater than 1 m. In the context of Covid-19, airborne transmission may be possible in specific circumstances and settings in which procedures or support treatments that generate aerosols are performed; i.e., bronchoscopy, turning the patient to the prone position, disconnecting the patient from the ventilator, and more.
At present, no evidence proves pets such as dogs or cats can get infected with COVID-19. However, it is better to always wash your hands with soap and water after contact with pets. This habit can protect you against various common bacteria such as E.coli and Salmonella, which can move between pets and humans.
Vaccines to reduce the risk of getting infected by Covid-19 are now available. Indonesia uses Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna for mass vaccination program.
Please do a self-assessment test in JakCLM on the JAKI app. If symptoms appear, immediately call Jakarta Provincial Department of Health's Covid-19 Hotline at 112 via phone, 081 112 112 112 or 081 388 376 955 via WhatsApp for further instructions.
Make sure your friend or neighbor is performing self-isolation or call Jakarta Provincial Department of Health's Covid-19 Hotline at 112 via phone, 081 112 112 112 or 081 388 376 955 via WhatsApp for further instructions.
People who receive packages are not at risk of getting the COVID-19. From what we know of previously identified coronaviruses, this type of virus does not last long on inanimate objects, such as letters or packages.
At present, there is no evidence that food could transmit the coronaviruses that cause COVID-19. Viruses such as coronavirus cannot live long outside the human body.
The time between infection and the first symptoms is called the incubation period. Currently, the incubation period for COVID-19 is estimated to be between 1-14 days, and this estimate can change at any time according to case development.

The test for coronavirus in Jakarta Government-owned health facilities can only be done if there is a high probability that you have the disease.

For example if:

-You have close contact with someone who is positive Covid-19

-You traveled to a country or region with a high risk of Covid-19 in the last 14 days

In this case, you should call Jakarta Provincial Department of Health's Covid-19 Hotline at 112 via phone, 081 112 112 112 or 081 388 376 955 via WhatsApp for further instructions.

You are not advised to leave your home unless it is an absolute emergency. If you experience symptoms such as fever/cough/cold/sore throat or shortness of breath while outside the home, return to your home immediately, isolate yourself, and call Jakarta Provincial Department of Health's COVID-19 Hotline at 112 via phone, 081 112 112 112 or 081 388 376 955 via WhatsApp for further instructions.

If you become a suspect of COVID-19, Jakarta's COVID-19 Response Team will take several samples to be tested, for example:

  • Mucus from the nose, throat, or lungs; and/or
  • blood

You will also be isolated from other people until the test confirms whether you are negative or positive for COVID-19.

Prevents COVID-19 Transmission

As of now, there is no vaccine to prevent transmission of Covid-19, but you can take some precautionary measures, for example:

A. Maintaining health and fitness to improve your immune system.

B. Use a mask to cover your mouth and nose when you are outside the home.

C. Keep a minimum 1,5 meter physical distance with other people.

D. Washing hands using soap and running water or using 70-80% alcohol-based hand rub according to the steps of proper handwashing. Washing your hands thoroughly is easy and inexpensive. And, most of the diseases caused by viruses and bacteria are carried by the hands. Therefore, maintaining hand hygiene is very important.

E. When coughing and sneezing, try to keep your surroundings from being infected. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or creases of the inner elbows (not with your palms) and use a mask.

F.  Avoid contact with other people or travel to public places.

G. Avoid touching the eyes, nose, and mouth. Hands touch many things that can be contaminated with viruses. If we touch the eyes, nose, and mouth with contaminated hands, the virus can easily enter our body.

H. Dispose of used paper towels and masks properly in the trash, then wash your hands.

I.  Postpone your trip to the area/country where the Covid-19 case has been found.

J. Avoid leaving your home unless it is an absolute emergency.

K. Always monitor the progress of Covid-19 from official and accurate sources. Follow the directions and information from the health center and the local Health Department. Information from the right sources can help protect you from the transmission and spread of this disease.

Yes. Although, it is better to use cloth masks (3 layers) as surgical masks are in short supply and are needed by medical personnel.
Yes. You have to wear a mask at all times when leaving your home. It is better to use cloth masks (3 layers) as surgical masks are in short supply and are needed by medical personnel.
You are advised to stay cautious and follow government instructions. Stay home and stay calm. Do your activities and work from your home. Seek out trustworthy and accurate information on the developments around COVID-19 to stay informed on the situation in your area and take appropriate preventive measures.
No. Antibiotics only work to fight bacteria, not viruses. Because COVID-19 is caused by a virus, antibiotics cannot be used as a means of prevention or treatment. However, if you are hospitalized and diagnosed with COVID-19, you may be given antibiotics, because often there are secondary infections caused by bacteria.
Body temperature scanners are considered useful in detecting people with high temperatures that can be caused by a coronavirus. However, this tool cannot identify people who have been infected with COVID-19 but without high-temperature symptoms.

People with COVID-19 and influenza will experience the same respiratory tract symptoms, such as fever, cough, and runny nose. Although the symptoms are the same, the causes of the virus are different, so it is difficult for us to identify each of these diseases.

Accurate medical examination with laboratory examination reference is needed to confirm whether someone is infected with COVID-19. For anyone who has a fever, cough, and shortness of breath, we encourage you to seek treatment immediately. Notify health workers about your travel history to an affected country/area in the last 14 days before symptoms appear, or if you have been in close contact with someone who is suffering symptoms of respiratory tract infections.

Covid-19 Vaccine

A vaccine is a biological product containing antigens in the form of parts of microorganisms or substances they produce that have been processed in such a way to make them safe and provide active immunity against certain diseases.
No. The Pfizer vaccine can be used by residents with Jakarta ID cards who are domiciled in Jakarta and aged 12 years and over, whether pregnant or not. Meanwhile, the Moderna vaccine can be used by residents with Jakarta ID cards who are domiciled whether in DKI or non-DKI, aged 18 years and over, whether pregnant or not.
Vaccination is a process in the body, where a person becomes immune or protected from a disease so that if one day they are exposed to the disease, they will not get sick or only experience minor illness, usually by giving vaccines.
Vaccines are not medicines. They help the formation of specific immunity in the body to avoid contracting or possibly becoming seriously ill. As long as there isn't a definitive medicine for Covid-19, the way to protect ourselves from the disease are only by getting a Covid-19 vaccine and strictly following health protocols (wear a mask, washing hands with soap, maintaining distance, avoiding the crowd, decreasing mobility, and avoiding to eat together).
As the benefits of other vaccines, the Covid-19 vaccine is useful for protecting the body to not fall ill due to Covid-19 by stimulating specific immunity in the body.
  1. Vaccines are biological products given to a person to protect from debilitating, even life-threatening diseases.
  2. Vaccines will stimulate the formation of immunity against certain diseases on someone's body.
  3. The body will remember the disease-carrying viruses or bacteria, recognize it and know how to fight it.
  • Vaccines that are mass-produced are already going through a long process and must meet the main requirements, namely: Safe, Effective, Stable and Efficient in terms of cost.
  • The safety aspect of vaccines is ascertained through several stages of proper clinical trials and upholds the principles of science and health standards.
  • In essence, the government is not in a hurry in implementing vaccinations, and still prioritizing the aspects of safety, benefits, and the efficacy of vaccines.
  • The government only provides Covid-19 vaccines that are proven safe and passed the clinical trial, and have received Emergency Use of Authorization (EUA) from BPOM.

In general, the side effects that arise can vary. It usually light, temporary, not always present, and dependent on body condition. Mild side effects such as fever and muscle aches, or a rash at the injection site are normal but still need to be monitored. Through the complete stages of vaccine development and testing, the more severe side effects can be detected beforehand to be evaluated further. The benefits of the vaccine far outweigh the risk of getting sick from the refusal of vaccination.

If there is an Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) incident, it will be handled by The National Committee for the Assessment and Prevention of AEFI as well as committees in each region to monitor and treat AEFI.

People who get notifications through the Short Message Service (SMS) broadcast must participate in the Covid-19 vaccination.

Vaccination is not only aimed at breaking the chain of disease transmission and stop the plague only, but also in the long term to eliminate or even eradicate the disease itself.

Indonesia has a long history of controlling infectious diseases by vaccination or immunization. Indonesia also contributed to the prevention of disease in the world through vaccination. For example, since the first immunization against smallpox carried out in 1956, it was successfuly eradicated worldwide in 1974 before immunization officialy stopped in 1980. Same with polio. Since immunization against polio was first declared in 1972, Indonesia achieved polio-free in 2014.

Currently, the world, including Indonesia, is in the process of polio eradication targeted by 2023. Another example is the intensive efforts to administer tetanus immunization (Tetanus Toxoid) for pregnant women, which made Indonesia finally achieve tetanus elimination status for maternal and neonatal cases in 2016.

Vaccination aims to provide specific immunity against a certain disease so that if one day they exposed to the disease then that person will not be sick or have only mild illness. Sure, if someone doesn't undergo vaccination then he or she will not have specific immunity to the disease which can be prevented by participating in the vaccination. If the vaccination coverage is high and evenly distributed in an area, it will form a herd immunity. The immunity of this group is what could cause cross-protection, whereby the child remains healthy even if not immunized because other children in the neighborhood have already received complete immunization so that children who are not immunized get protection benefits through herd immunity arising from coverage immunization level earlier. Children who are not immunized are protected by people around them who are immune to certain diseases so the risk of contracting the disease from the people around them becomes small. This shows that immunization with high and even coverage is very important. However, if one day the child leaves the high overage area, The child will basically be at risk for contracting the disease because he or she does not yet have the specific immunity that comes from immunization

2. Islamic Boarding Schools

3. Orphanages/Child Care Social Institutions

4. Nursing Home

5. Disability Home Care

6. Other Potential Priority Locations

All information regarding the LARGE-SCALE SOCIAL COLLABORATION (KSBB) program is public and updated regularly on https://corona.jakarta.go.id/en/ksbb site. On this site, the community / institution can monitor activities and distribution of the assistance that they provided or received.
In LARGE-SCALE SOCIAL COLLABORATION (KSBB) program, people who want to distribute food assistance, simply select the target location of the KSBB within the RW, Islamic Boarding Schools, and other Home Care.

The distribution of assistance to residents in need will be coordinated by RT/RW in accordance with vulnerable community data, based on the social and economic criteria of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government or related institutions. The data is dynamic and developing.
The data used by RT/RW to distribute assistance packages is the actual data of the people in need, even though they have received assistance from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. This data will be updated (can increase or decrease) periodically in accordance with the real conditions.
When distributing the assistance, the donors are expected to participate in supervising the activities with regard to COVID-19 protocol to ensure that the assistance is distributed properly. The distribution activities will be also accompanied by Kelurahan, Kecamatan, and Satpol PP.
The information of Large-Scale Social Collaboration (KSBB) is recorded and accessible by the donors (community / institution) as a form of accountability. If the assistance needed at the location is already accommodated, then the location becomes unavailable for the next assistance selection target.
The data presented is based on RW, Islamic Boarding Schools, and Home Care in Jakarta. Therefore, it is expected to provide a broad and comprehensive coverage, including various professions such as ride-sharing drivers and food stalls.

The assistance is distributed to the specified location (confirmed by RW) or directly to the Home Care and Islamic Boarding Schools. The process must follow the PSBB protocol.

If the assistance is addressed to RW, then the local RT / RW will distribute the assistance package directly to the beneficiary's house with the COVID-19 protocol; accompanied by Lurah, Camat, Satpol PP, and representatives of donors. Thus, residents are not assembled to collect the package.
Communities can distribute the assistance independently, but it is advised to report the donation on LARGE-SCALE SOCIAL COLLABORATION (KSBB) website as the information about the type and location of donation can be recorded. In addition, the criteria of accuracy and effectiveness can be monitored earlier.
