Book Your Covid-19 Vaccine Appointment Directly Via Google Maps

Various innovations from collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and collaborators continue to play a part in mitigating the Covid-19 pandemic. KSBB or Large-Scale Social Collaboration is an example of Jakarta's collaboration with various partners to provide food assistance for residents, assistance to MSMEs, education, settlement, and manpower during these challenging times.

Now, in the midst of the government's effort to accelerate the progress of Covid-19 vaccination and protecting Jakarta residents, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through its Jakarta Smart City and Jakarta Health Office, has collaborated with Google to present a feature in the form of a button to book an appointment at the vaccination site directly from Google Maps. That makes Jakarta as the first city in the Southeast Asia that provides vaccination direct booking from Google Maps.

A Growing Collaboration

For your information, this is not the first collaboration between Jakarta Smart City and Google. Previously, Jakarta Smart City collaborated in adding data of major and minor roads in the Google Maps application.

Then, in May 2021, when the Covid-19 vaccination was intensified, Jakarta Smart City and Google Maps made a collaboration in presenting a feature that allows users to see the list and location of vaccination in Jakarta. Amid the enthusiasm of the residents and to help accelerate the Covid-19 vaccination rate in the capital, the collaboration was continued with the launch of Vaccination Direct Booking via Google Maps feature.

How to Book for Covid-19 Vaccination via Google Maps?

With the aim of making it easier for citizens, the booking process for vaccinations through Google is quite simple. Just simply enter the keyword "Covid-19 Vaccination" on Google search column. Click “view all” which then displays a more detailed list of vaccination sites, like this:

Select the vaccination site of your choice -- preferably the nearest to you, then details will appear on the right as shown in the image above. You can see the address of the vaccination site, its operating hours, and telephone number. And most importantly, it is also shown that at the location of the Covid-19 vaccine you choose, you need to make an appointment.

To register for vaccination, select "Book appointment". Next, you will be directed to fill in your Identity Card number and full name on the registration page, like this:

Then, you just need to follow the registration steps until you can choose the location and time for the Covid-19 vaccination that suits you. You will also be directed to fill out a pre-screening form which will give you a ‘control card’ that you need to print and bring along with the vaccination card to the vaccination location later.

If you want to check the available vaccination quota, you can access it via qrco.de/kuotavaksinjaki.

Collaboration and Innovation for Jakarta

This collaborative step is an example of real implementation and application of vaccination location data provided by the Jakarta Health Office, data processing and provision of a registration platform by Jakarta Smart City, and Google with its technology to help display said data and provide registration buttons on Google Maps.

The results of this collaboration can make it easier for residents to find vaccination locations and register to be vaccinated. Hopefully the results of this collaboration can support the acceleration of vaccination in Jakarta, so that herd immunity can be achieved and the pandemic will end soon.
